RUPAUL threw it in reverse, and took a stroll back up the race course on DRAG RACE tonight. The finale will air NEXT WEEK.
WE don’t mind the delay, because as far as WE’RE concerned, there isn’t nearly enough good drag on TV, so if the producers want to add an episode of out takes, We welcome it.
But it got US to thinking…. There was next to NO DRAG on the show. Oh SURE, the contestants “dressed” in drag, and they performed assorted runway challenges in drag, but aside from the “lip-sync for your life” at the end of each episode, and the one group challenge, they never DID DRAG. In other words, they NEVER performed… and lets face it….that’s what DRAG is all about. It’s not simply cross dressing, and walking a runway or trying to be a “spokes-model. “
WE think RU did a little too much copying of AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL and PROJECT RUNWAY, and not enough of AMERICA’S GOT TALENT.
PERFORMANCE is so key to what DRAG “IS” that not featuring it seems ridiculous.
WE’VE been able to find clips of many of the contestants, and let US tell you, THESES GIRLS did NOT get THEIR DUE.
WE’D have much rather watched the QUEENS “workin” a hot BEYONCE medley, or a JENNIFER HOLIDAY power ballad , than to watch them pretend to make dresses (Come on RU, WE know they got help off camera, they had too. Even PROJECT RUNWAY contestants couldn’t have accomplished those clothes in the time allowed.) and walk up and down a runway.
The above clip of SHANNEL proves my point. While the quality is POOR, one can still imagine how FIERCE this showgirl might have seemed if WE’D only gotten a chance to see her “workin” her craft. SHANNEL is an absolute marvel on stage, and yet WE NEVER really got to see that on the show.
WE think the problem stems from RU not being a lip-syncer. WE think OUR SISTAH is “stuck up” about it, and chose to deemphasize it. SURE RU’S had a talk show and now this, but SHE ought to remember that her “bread and butter” has ALWAYS come from performing, and whether the voice is live or a recording, it’s STILL performing.
FRANKLY, if given the choice between front row seats to see RU or LYPSINKA, WE wouldn’t think twice about choosing the later. The truth is, WE’VE seen both, and RU was wonderful, but LYPSINKA was DIVINE, and never uttered a word in HER own voice, though SHE does use her own voice in theatrical productions.
But OUR point is, WE WANT MORE DRAG DURING THE DRAG RACE!

OUR favorite SHOWGIRL, SHANNEL, was sent SASHAYING on RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE this evening, and while WE’LL miss her terribly, WE do think RU made the right decision letting HER go.
SHANNEL is a BIG OL DIVA, and SHE’S used to running the show and being GRAND. DRAG RACE’S criticizing format simply did NOT suit HER own vision of HER flawlessness, and SHE reached the point where SHE felt the need to point it out, and frankly made a BIG OL FOOL of HERSELF.
WE’D certainly have preferred to see REBECCA GLASSCOCK hit the skids, but considering the way SHANNEL cut HER own throat, the result was inevitable.
OH WELL … WE’VE OUR heart set on NINA FLOWERS winning anyway, so WE’RE not completely devastated by SHANNEL’S departure.

ONGINA, bombed out on tonight’s challenge and was sent SASHAYING.
It was obvious ONGINA was RU’S personal favorite and it was easy to see the decision bothered RU tremendously….but it was THE RIGHT DECISION and WE’RE terribly proud of RU for remaining objective in the matter.
And WE AGREE with SHANNEL….SHE SHOULD HAVE WON !!!!!
REBECCA and her “butchie” did look alike but they still looked like poorly dressed sluts, while SHANNEL and her “little-man” were dazzling. SHANNEL had by far the harder challenge as her “model” looked like a pre-op female-to-male tranny whereas REBECCA’S was reasonably “fish-like” to begin with.
This challenge REALLY made US miss TAMMIE BROWN. WE’D of LOVED to have seen TAMMIE recreate herself using a Diesel Dyke.

Poor Tammie was told to SASHAY AWAY by RuPaul on last night’s second episode of DRAG RACE….WHAT A SHAME as WE found her FIERCE !!! WE feel AKISHA…the obnoxious BITCH from HELL needs to be sent SASHAYING next as she truly is QUITE AWFUL. and WE are heartily ROOTING for SHANNEL and NINA FLOWERS now that DEAR TAMMIE is no more….but TAMMIE lives on in the ETHER of the INTERNET…and in her honor we post this clip:
The DOLL is doing LAST DANCE which was one of OUR showstoppers prior to OUR giving up the stage in order to manage OUR EMPIRE’S vast holdings.

THE SHOW IS SIMILAR TO BOTH “TOP MODEL” AND “PROJECT RUNWAY”, AND IT’S A CAMPY GAS !!! RU IS RATHER A CROSS BETWEEN TYRA AND TIM GUNN, USHERING THE HOPEFUL FEMALE IMPERSONATORS THROUGH DIFFERING CHALLENGES EACH EPISODE, ELIMINATING ONE GIRL A WEEK.
AS YOU ARE WELL AWARE….”WE’VE” BEEN MOST DESPONDENT OVER “PROJECT RUNWAY’S” CONTINUED ABSENCE FROM THE AIR WAYS, DUE TO ONGOING LITIGATION, AND HAVE BEEN HOPING THAT SOMETHING WOULD COME ALONG TO FILL THE VOID.
“WE” WERE AWARE THAT “OUR” DEAR CHUM RUPAUL HAD A SHOW IN THE WORKS, BUT CONSIDERING IT WAS ON LOGO (OH DON’T HATE “US,” LOGO USUALLY SUCKS, AND YOU KNOW IT) “WE” ASSUMED IT WOULD BE ON THE “CHEESY” SIDE, LIKE THEIR “HOT TRANNY MESS” DATING SHOW STARRING CALPERNIA ADAMS.
SOOOOOO…”WE’ RELUCTANTLY TUNED IN, AND “WE’ WERE WONDERFULLY SURPRISED. THE SHOW IS QUICK PACED, WITTY, AND FABULOUSLY OVER-THE-TOP !!!!! A TOTAL TRIUMPH !!!!
AND IF THAT WEREN’T ENOUGH…”PROJECT RUNWAY’S” SEASON 2 ASS-HOLE, SANTINO, IS A WEEKLY JUDGE, AND “OUR” FAVORITE FASHION ICON, BOB MACKIE, WAS THE OPENING EPISODE’S GUEST JUDGE.
