BETSEY JOHNSON’S STILL LOADS OF FUN…AFTER ALL THESE YEARS

WE had a DIVINE time at BETSEY JOHNSON’S FASHION HOUSE PARTY this evening. WE literally DASHED from DONNA’S showroom to BETSY’S.

It certainly wasn’t your typical fashion show…no runway….just a party…with lots of SNACKY foods…but it was LOADS OF FUN…and WE admire BETSY’S determination to keep her collection frilly and humorous.

In these TRYING DAYS…it’s important for girls to know that it’s still possible to have a GOOD TIME.

LOOKS LIKE CHARCOAL GREY IS THE NEW GREY

WE had a SIMPLY MARVELOUS time at DONNA KARAN’S extremely TASTEFUL show today. Donna staged the presentation at her own downtown studio, and CHARCOAL was the color de jur. OH…there WERE spots of vivid color here and there, but CHARCOAL WAS heavily featured.

WE feel SURE she’ll do QUITE WELL with this collection…as GREY looks good on EVERYONE !!!!

Of course WE skipped DONNA’S DKNY show at the tents Sunday afternoon. WE’RE not really in to MASS MARKET READY-TO-WEAR, and WE had a brunch date at TAVERN ON THE GREEN with OUR DEAR SISTER, MYRIAM anyway.

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK IS OFF AND ROLLING

WE’RE simply ADORING FASHION WEEK in the BIG APPLE. Judging from the SHOWS WE’VE attended thus far, the FALL/Winter 09 lines are pretty darn FIERCE…like this selection from DUCKIE BROWN. Of course WE can do without the BIG RED HAT.

TRUE…the faltering economy has scaled back the extravagances on display this year…thank goodness DARLING MARC JABOBS didn’t include US in his MASSIVE invitation cut-backs for his show tomorrow, and left US firmly in the FRONT ROW….but the garments WE’VE seen so far are EXTREMELY exciting and full of invigorating PROMISE.

JIMMY went on to create many other STAR illusions, INCLUDING the BEST DAMN BETTE DAVIS since CHARLES PIERCE passed, and of course became an INTERNATIONAL CABERET SENSATION .
